The Gifford School has a rolling admissions process, with students enrolling throughout the school year as well as in our 20-day summer program.
The admissions process begins with a placement referral from the student’s public school district. Once a referral is received, the Admissions Director reviews the student’s records to determine whether Gifford can provide the appropriate supports and services. Referral materials typically include a current IEP, information about the student’s school functioning, academic and cognitive profiles, diagnostic assessments, and relevant clinical information.
If the referral appears to be a potential fit, the Admissions Director contacts the family to provide an overview of Gifford’s programming and to schedule a campus tour. After all relevant information has been reviewed, the Admissions Committee meets to determine whether to offer placement.
